We welcome Croatia and its citizens as they enter the European Union today! This is good news for Europe, for Croatia and for Slovakia, a staunch supporter of Croatia’s EU membership. Yes, ultimately, trade, business, work and travel will be easier and both the bigger EU and its youngest member can benefit from that. Moreover, together, we are stronger in dealing with the challenges that we face. But even more importantly, the EU has shown that its doors are open for all the countries of the Western Balkans willing and able to shoulder the requirements of EU membership. We encourage them to continue on the path of reforms and join Croatia in the European Union.
