Serbia-Slovakia University Students to debate NATO and Regional Cooperation

Debates of University students from Serbia and Slovakia continue on November 5th and 7th, 2013.

Students from four Universities will exchange their opinions and arguments on the topic of NATO and Regional Cooperation. The participants will talk about the importance and purpose of regional cooperation, Visegrad Four (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) countries’ lessons in security as well as security and budgetary implications of individual defense. They will also debate national defense capabilities and their development. Debates will be preceded by an interactive lecture devoted to the same topic. It is expected that the lecture will last for approximately one hour.

Debates of University Students promote democratic values, encourage critical thinking and strengthen the debate skills of students from participating Universities. They are organized in cooperation with the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) in Belgrade and supported by National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

5 November, 2013, 11:00 am: Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade vs Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Matej Bel University, Banska Bystrica

7 November 2013, 11:00 am: Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad vs Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University, Bratislava.
